  • 8:15am – 3:30pm – term time only role (39 weeks per year)

Are you a recent Graduate, experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or an Aspiring Teacher looking for an exciting education based opportunity in the green, open borough of Hounslow, West London?

Our prestigious secondary school is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join their Secondary team as SEN Teaching Assistants from September 2024. With opportunities for two candidates to start at May half term, before the Summer break!


This is an excellent opportunity for those with prior experience working with children, either in a school environment or as a tutor, to make a real impact on the lives of young learners. Ideally you will have a 2:1 degree from a GOOD University, Russell Group comes highly commended, along with a passion to pursue Educational Psychology, or Teaching careers in the future.


Working Hours:

Excellent working hours - 8:15 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

- Assisting teachers in the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons for pupils with additional needs including SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health Needs), ASD, ADHD, Behavioural Difficulties and Learning Needs

- Supporting students on an individual or group basis, providing targeted assistance

- Collaborating with the inclusion team to support pupils with additional needs

- Promoting positive behaviour management strategies throughout the school

- Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all pupils


Desired Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience working with children, either in a school or tutoring setting

- Confidence in engaging and communicating effectively with pupils

- Ability to join the school and hit the ground running

- Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable

- Knowledge of supporting students with general learning difficulties, social and emotional needs, ADHD, dyslexia, etc., is an advantage
